Student Visa and Guardian Visa Information
Hastin International School warmly welcomes students from around the world. We are committed to supporting international families throughout the visa process — including both the Non-Immigrant Education (Non-ED) Visa, required for full-time study in Thailand, and the Guardian (Non-O) Visa, which allows a parent or legal guardian to reside in Thailand while their child studies.

Student Visa (Non-Immigrant ED Visa)
The Non-Immigrant ED Visa is intended for foreign nationals who wish to study at an accredited educational institution in Thailand. Hastin International School is fully accredited by the Ministry of Education, allowing our international students to apply for this visa.
Eligibility
- Be non-Thai nationals
- Be enrolled full-time at Hastin International School
- Not be dependents of parents holding work or diplomatic visas
Visa Categories Processed by the School
- New Education Visa (Applying within Thailand)
- Student Visa Transfer or Renewal (1-Year Visa)
1. New Education Visa (Within Thailand)
This category applies to individuals already in Thailand on another visa type (e.g. Tourist Visa) who wish to convert it to a Non-Immigrant ED Visa without leaving the country. Applications must be submitted to the Thai Immigration Bureau before the current visa expires. Once approved, the initial visa is valid for 90 days and can later be extended for up to 1 year.
Required Documents – From the Student
- Passport (valid at least 6 months, minimum 4 blank pages)
- Recent passport-sized photos (4x6 cm) — typically 12 photos are required
- Visa application form (TM.86/87)
- Copy of parents' house registration or rental agreement
- TM.30 (residence notification)
- Proof of residence (choose one):
- Rental Residence: Rental contract, house registration, title deed, sale agreement, landlord ID/passport, and DBD letter (if owned under a company)
- Owned Residence: Title deed, sale agreement, house registration, residence receipt, and DBD letter if applicable
From Hastin International School
- Official letter confirming full-time enrolment
- Copy of the school's license and registration documents
2. Student Visa Transfer or Renewal (1-Year Visa)
This applies to students who continue studying at Hastin International School and need to renew their visa, or transfer from another school in Thailand to Hastin International School. The renewal or transfer must be completed before the current visa expires. Upon approval, the visa is extended for 1 year, provided the student remains enrolled.
Required Documents – From the Student
- Passport (valid at least 6 months, 4 blank pages)
- Recent passport-sized photos (4x6 cm) — typically 12 photos are required
- Visa application form (TM.7)
- Copy of parents' house registration or rental agreement
- TM.30 form (residence notification)
- Proof of residence (same requirements as above)
From Hastin International School
- Official enrolment confirmation letter
- Copy of school license and registration documents
Application Process
- Gather all required documents
- Submit to school with service fee and full-year tuition
- School prepares documentation (up to 1 month)
- Attend Immigration appointment
- Receive 90-day visa (for new applications) or 1-year extension (for renewals/transfers)
Re-Entry Permit
If a student plans to leave Thailand during the term or school holidays, they must obtain a Re-Entry Permit to return on the same ED Visa. Failure to do so will result in visa cancellation.
Changing Visa Type or Withdrawing from the School
- The school must notify Immigration.
- The existing ED Visa will be cancelled.
- The student must either leave Thailand or apply for a new visa category within the grace period (usually 7 days).
Visa Service Fees
- Student Visa: 3,000 THB per student, per time (document processing only)
- One-year (3-term) tuition fees required in advance

Guardian Visa (Non-O)
The Guardian Visa (Non-O) is issued to parents or legal guardians of foreign students who are studying in Thailand on a valid Non-Immigrant Education (Non-ED) Visa. This visa allows a parent to legally reside in Thailand during the student's enrolment at Hastin International School.
Qualifications
- Must be a parent or legal guardian of a student holding a valid Non-ED Visa.
- Only one parent can be granted a Guardian Visa per student.
Required Documents
From the Parent/Guardian
- Passport (valid for at least 6 months)
- Copy of the child's passport and current visa
- Birth certificate of the student (translated into English or Thai and legalized, showing parent–child relationship)
- Visa application form (TM.86/87 for in-country applications)
- Recent passport-sized photos (4x6 cm) — typically 12 photos are required
- Proof of financial means:
- Thai bank account book (copy)
- Bank guarantee letter from your Thai bank
- Copy of house registration or rental agreement in Thailand
- TM.30 form (residence notification from landlord or hotel)
- Copy of landlord's Thai ID card or passport
- If you own your residence, please include:
- Copy of company registration from DBD (Department of Business Development), if applicable
- Copy of title deed
- Official letter from Hastin International School confirming the student's full-time enrolment
- Copy of the school's license and registration documents
Where to Apply
You may enter Thailand on a Tourist Visa or Visa Exemption and later apply to convert it to a Guardian Visa at a Thai Immigration Office (e.g. Chonburi Immigration Office). Your child must already hold a valid Non-ED Visa before submitting the Guardian Visa application.

General Requirements for All Visas
- 90-Day Reporting: All visa holders must report their address to Immigration every 90 days (TM.47 form).
- Address Changes: Notify Immigration if your residence changes (TM.30 form).
- Processing Time: Document preparation and visa submission take up to 1 month after receipt of all required documents and full payment.
- Visa Duration: The school processes only 1-year (3-term) visas — shorter-term visas are not permitted.
- Visa Validity: When changing your visa within Thailand, ensure it has at least 25 days of validity remaining; otherwise, please apply for a 30-day extension first.
- Linked Visas: Guardian Visas are directly linked to the student's Non-ED Visa — any change to the student's visa may affect the Guardian Visa.
