Guardian Visa and Student Visa Information
Hastin International School warmly welcomes students from around the world. We are committed to supporting international families throughout the visa process — including both the Non-Immigrant Education (Non-ED) Visa, required for full-time study in Thailand, and the Guardian (Non-O) Visa, which allows a parent or legal guardian to reside in Thailand while their child studies.
Guardian Visa (Non-O)
The Guardian Visa (Non-O) is issued to parents or legal guardians of foreign students who are studying in Thailand on a valid Non-Immigrant Education (Non-ED) Visa. This visa allows a parent to legally reside in Thailand during the student’s enrolment at Hastin International School.
Qualifications
- Must be a parent or legal guardian of a student holding a valid Non-ED Visa.
- Only one parent can be granted a Guardian Visa per student.
Required Documents
From the Parent/Guardian
- Passport (valid for at least 6 months)
- Copy of the child’s passport and current visa
- Birth certificate of the student (translated into English or Thai and legalized, showing parent–child relationship)
- Visa application form (TM.7 for in-country applications)
- 12 recent passport-sized photos (4x6 cm)
- Proof of financial means:
- Thai bank account book (copy)
- Bank guarantee letter from your Thai bank
- Copy of house registration or rental agreement in Thailand
- TM.30 form (residence notification from landlord or hotel)
- Copy of landlord’s Thai ID card or passport
- If you own your residence, please include:
- Copy of company registration from DBD (Department of Business Development), if applicable
- Copy of title deed
- Official letter from Hastin International School confirming the student’s full-time enrolment
- Copy of the school’s license and registration documents
Where to Apply
You may enter Thailand on a Tourist Visa or Visa Exemption and later apply to convert it to a Guardian Visa at a Thai Immigration Office (e.g. Chonburi Immigration Office). Your child must already hold a valid Non-ED Visa before submitting the Guardian Visa application.
Visa Validity
- Initial visa: valid for 90 days.
- Can be extended up to the expiry date of the student’s visa.
- Renewable annually while the student remains enrolled at Hastin International School.
Extension Procedure
- Submit all required documents to Immigration.
- Upon approval, a 1-year visa extension will be granted.
Important Notes
- Report your address to Immigration every 90 days (TM.47).
- Notify Immigration if your residence changes (TM.30).
- The Guardian Visa is directly linked to the child’s Non-ED Visa — any change to the student’s visa may affect the Guardian Visa.
- Document preparation and visa submission take up to 1 month after receipt of all required documents and full payment of 1-year tuition fees and service fees.
- We process only 1-year (3-term) visas — shorter-term visas are not permitted.
- When changing your visa within Thailand, ensure it has at least 25 days of validity remaining; otherwise, please apply for a 30-day extension first.
- Notify the school at least 2 months before your visa expires if you wish to renew.
- Bank balance requirements:
- Visa change: 500,000 THB (maintained for at least 60 days)
- Visa extension: 500,000 THB (maintained for at least 30 days)
- Visa renewal: 500,000 THB (maintained for at least 90 days)
